On June 4, Ambassador Allan Mustard traveled to Lebap Velayat (Province) for a day-long working visit. On this trip, the Ambassador met with Governor of Lebap Province Muhammet Jorayev to discuss regional economic development and opportunities for bilateral cooperation. Following the meeting, the Ambassador toured the XII-century Silk Road caravanserai (rest stop) at Dayahatyn, where restoration work supported by funding from the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) is underway. Ambassador Mustard also visited the Turkmenabat American Corner, where he met with approximately 30 visitors and U.S. Government exchange program alumni. He answered a wide range of questions about his life and career, travelling to the U.S., and Embassy programs. The trip marked Ambassador Mustard’s first visit to Lebap Province.
