The U.S. Embassy in Turkmenistan, in partnership with Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Culture, will present a series of public performances featuring the Ari Roland Quartet, from March 31 until April 6, across Turkmenistan.
The Ari Roland Quartet is a group of four New York City-based jazz musicians, including Ari Roland on bass, John Mosca on trombone, Zaid Nasser on alto saxophone, and Keith Balla on drums. They have toured internationally and have recorded extensively. Their program brings live music to Turkmenistan as a part of April’s global celebrations to commemorate Jazz Appreciation Month. The music program in Turkmenistan is designed to foster cultural exchange between the United States and other countries through American music and culture. This is the fifth visit to Turkmenistan for lead member Ari Roland.
The group will hold public performances in the following cities:
- Balkanabat – State Music and Drama Theatre of Balkanabat – March 31 at 19:00
- Turkmenbashi – Concert Hall of the Cultural and Sports Complex of the Oil Refineries Complex – April 1 at 19:00
- Ashgabat – Watan Concert and Cinema Hall – April 4 at 19:00
- Dashoguz – Dashoguz Drama Theatre – April 6 at 18:00
The entrance to all of the concerts is free and open to the public. In addition to these public performances, the group will be holding workshops for students and musicians in Ashgabat.
