This section of the Embassy tracks major political and economic issues in Turkmenistan, bilateral ties between our nations, and multilateral issues in the region. It acts as a liaison with other U.S. Government Departments such as the Departments of Commerce, Agriculture and Labor, and the Federal Aviation Administration.
It administers the Department of Agriculture’s Cochran Fellowship Program, which competitively selects farmers from Turkmenistan for a two-week professional exchange. It also works closely with the U.S. Commercial Service and other U.S. Government agencies to support U.S.-Turkmen trade.
