The U.S. Embassy alerts all Turkmenistan citizens and residents interested in work, travel, and exchange opportunities in the United States of malicious scams recently propagated on behalf of the Embassy by unknown individuals. These scams have falsely advertised education and travel opportunities and have solicited payment under pretense. With the exception of Consular services, the Embassy continues to offer programs and consultations free of charge to all interested individuals. The Embassy urges caution in responding to messages from email addresses with a domain other than @state.gov, general solicitations for payment, and vague and suspicious messages purporting to be from the U.S. Embassy or Embassy partners.
