Today, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in partnership with the Government of Turkmenistan and with support from Chevron Corporation, launched a workshop titled “Enhancing the Competitiveness of Turkmenistan’s Textile Industry.” During this intensive two-day event, 24 participants representing the Ministry of Textiles and various local textile enterprises will discuss modern business and marketing methodologies to boost the competiveness of domestic textile products and to increase exports in the international market.
The workshop will focus on: introducing business tools in specific sectors of comparative advantage; increasing the export potential of ready-made garments and yarn, and attracting foreign direct investment in the textile industry. Leading the seminar is Mr. Rodrigo Ortiz, a seasoned competitiveness, marketing, and international trade expert, who has been engaged in various capacity building projects in Turkmenistan since 2010.
This activity is made possible by the American people through USAID in order to support Turkmenistan’s economic growth, social sector, and community initiatives.
