U.S. Embassy’s Music Program Shares Culture, Expertise with Turkmen Performers

The United States Shares Expertise, Promotes Cultural Exchange through Music Program

Today, contemporary American dance and music group Company E will begin a series of workshops and presentations to share their expertise with counterparts in Turkmenistan. The program will culminate in a joint Turkmen-American concert for the public on February 27.

Based in Washington D.C., Company E emphasizes international collaborations with the great choreographers, dancers, musicians and singers at work today. Company E engages with groups around the globe, with an emphasis on the next generation of cutting edge choreography, and with U.S. missions abroad to present their work on the international stage. This is the third visit by Company E to Turkmenistan, following programs and performances in Ashgabat in 2013 and 2014.

Led by director Paul Emerson, the American teachers and performers will work directly with the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, the National Symphony Orchestra, the National Dance Company, the National Choir, and Lyale Vocal group. Company E will also give a presentation for the public at the Embassy’s Information Resource Center. The following events are free and open to the public:
