From September 21-25, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration conducted a workshop on Airport Interdiction Operations in Ashgabat for officials from the State Service for the Protection of a Healthy Society and the State Border and State Customs Services.  The workshop covered such issues as route/courier characteristics, targeting and risk management, concealment methods, behavior analysis, informant development, international controlled deliveries, baggage scanning, and report writing, among others.  During the September 25 closing ceremony of the workshop, U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan Allan Mustard highlighted the strong support of the United States Government for the Government of Turkmenistan in the fight against narcotics trafficking and abuse.  Ambassador Mustard also underlined the importance of continuing our partnership through additional training seminars and other cooperative activities in the future.
