United States supports Turkmenistan’s law enforcement officials with English language training

Ambassador Allan Mustard congratulates Turkmen law enforcement professionals on their successful completion of the ELT course

On October 30, 2015, the U.S. Embassy conducted a closing ceremony for the ninth round of the U.S. Government-funded English Language Training (ELT) program for Government of Turkmenistan law enforcement professionals. The ceremony took place at the Training Center of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

Over 50 Government of Turkmenistan law enforcement professionals, from ten different ministries and agencies, participated in this year’s round of the ELT program. The purpose of the program is to give such professionals the opportunity to improve their English using the most up-to-date learning materials and methods in order to strengthen their ability to perform their routine duties, to read professional materials in English, and to communicate more effectively with their foreign counterparts and colleagues.

During the closing ceremony Ambassador Allan Mustard congratulated the ELT participants on their successful completion of the course and urged them to continue to use and improve their English at every opportunity.
